Will my jewelry tarnish?
Our jewelry is tarnish-free and will maintain their vibrant look as long as they're properly taken care of. Our jewelry can be worn in the shower, pool, and beach — but we recommend keeping your piece(s) away from water whenever possible to maintain that fresh shine. If you do wear them in salt or chlorine water, please remember to rinse the jewelry afterward to keep its shine and look.
In very rare cases, jewelry will tarnish because of the pH level in your body. This can happen whether the jewelry is plated or filled with real gold. Skin discoloration occurs when too much acid in your body causes your skin to react with the metal. If that's the case, we recommend shopping our solid gold pieces.
Will it turn my skin green?
No. The base metal for our jewelry is either 316L stainless steel or 925 sterling silver — both known for their high resistance to discoloration. 316L (the “L” stands for “low carbon”) is one of the most commonly used materials in fine jewelry, and titanium offers excellent corrosion resistance too. We avoid the metals that turn your skin green — brass, zinc, nickel, alloy, and copper, so our pieces stay true to colour and are gentle on sensitive skin.
